Concept and Structure
Journey of a Retro Motion is a poetic meditation on the cyclical nature of life and movement. If a moving event before us were to rotate 360 degrees vertically, it would feel as though we had returned to the same place we began. The film mirrors this imagined rotation, evoking the sensation of circular motion and the repetition inherent in daily life.
The work traces a symbolic journey: from the start of the day through countless streets and alleys, we return home by night, echoing life’s cycles of wandering, learning, and returning. The journey is both solitary and collective—like the path from birth to death—where each motion becomes a reflection on time, existence, and inevitability.
Through looping imagery and rhythmic pacing, the film transforms mundane travel into a contemplative experience, inviting viewers to feel the passage of time as both personal and universal, and to consider how every journey—physical or metaphorical—traces a circular pattern.
